The Service Monetization team builds and maintains systems managing subscriptions, generating bills, and collecting payments worldwide. As Software Engineering Manager, Memberships, lead efforts powering revenue through secure, scalable services.
A day in the life involves leading and mentoring engineers to adopt best practices and scalability while fostering collaboration. Run scrum ceremonies like grooming, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Work with product and leadership to define the development roadmap aligning with business objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. The team is diverse, representing varied anime enthusiasm and outside interests, while prioritizing inclusivity. Operate in a hybrid schedule, in-office three days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in San Francisco.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of engineering in building cloud-native applications, with a strong focus on backend development and microservices architecture
- 3+ years of experience in managing and leading engineering teams
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Typescript, Go, Java, Python, and experience with modern frameworks and technologies
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms
- Experience building features for subscription management, customer incentives, and integration with payment providers
- Knowledge of fraud detection and compliance in payments processing systems
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers to ensure adoption of best practices, architectural standards, and scalability fostering a collaborative work environment
- Run the day-to-day operations of the engineering team, including managing scrum ceremonies such as grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Work with product and leadership to define and execute the development roadmap aligning with business objectives and customer needs
- Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, gather feedback, and communicate project progress
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting to ensure timely delivery of projects
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members to provide feedback and support career development
- Monitor team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement
- Collaborate with DevOps team and other engineering managers to streamline deployments and monitoring of cloud-native applications
