About this role

SandboxAQ solves challenging problems with AI + Quantum for positive impact, partnering with global leaders in government, academia, and the private sector. The team coalesces diverse talent from physics, computer science, neuroscience, mathematics, cryptography, and natural sciences. Join a culture where experimental thinking and collaboration yield breakthrough solutions.

The Quantum Sensing Team deploys state-of-the-art hardware for medical diagnosis, GPS-free navigation, and autonomous vehicles. Hardware Engineering Residents contribute to rapid product prototype iterations by assembling, coding, testing, validating, and deploying biomedical sensor systems. Work closely with engineers and scientists developing machine-learning models and AI software from novel sensor data.

Residents rapidly assemble prototype hardware and deploy it in validation experiments, design parts for test stations, and write Python code to control hardware via GUI. Capture sensor readings, analyze data, and present findings to the core team. Collect large datasets to empower downstream machine learning.

SandboxAQ invests in future talent through residency programs, research papers, developer tools, and university partnerships. Inspire people from all walks of life for the quantum era and a path in STEM. Engage early with customers to improve market fit throughout development.
